BellaOnline Forums Health and Fitness Yoga Falling Asleep during Yoga Class

During my last yoga class we had the class itself and then it ended with quiet meditation time with all of us lying down. Then after that we sit up and do a few gentle seated poses. One of the women - an elderly women - just lay there and didn't get up. I was really worried about her! Luckily she was just asleep.

Have you ever fallen asleep during yoga?

Kind of, yes. Not completely out but close anyway. I loved the feeling I had after that. So refreshed. Falling asleep unexpectedly is terrific!

Oh yes! I have been known to doze for a moment during shavasana. There is a man in my Tuesday evening class who usually falls asleep and snores gently, so we all know that he is totally relaxed!

I'd love to fall asleep during savansana. I think you'd really have to have let go of all your little life worries to get there!
