Hi Everyone:

Not meaning to "limit" any responses at all, but needed to know if there are any other 50+ out there.

Reason: I am age 52 and at that age range where you are considered a "senior" but not. And by this I mean, alot places required you to be at least 55 to be considered a senior.

Question: Anyone out there between the ages of 50 and 54? If yes, give me a holler - have some questions for you if you do not mind.

Thanks - love this site - just found it after finally getting some FREE to to explore the entire site.

I'm not between 50 + 54
But I've been there
I think over 65 you should be considered a senior
But yet it's just a number your as young as you feel
But its great to get that senior discount wink

50's are seniors? That just wrecked my weekend, I am double nickel. I figured it to be middle age or so....

Diana:

U funny!

Seniors are called any age depending on what they are trying to AVOID giving you (lol).

Some places give your a discount at age 55 and some make you wait until 65. Interesting!

Me, it is but a number and I only ACT senior when I want the "discount" (giggling).

WHAT THE---?!?! You just depressed me, Angela!!! I just turned 50 in July. I did not realize that made me an official senior!!!

Say it ain't so! Why do I still feel like a 30-something?!?!

This is too too weird for me.

I turned 50 in November and am a proud card-carrying AARP member.

This was the year to change my life and so far, I have done well. 50 is the new 30. 60 is the new 40.......

It's just weird to me, that's all. I feel great! I love life and am grateful for all of my life experiences. Seems that I am at peace with everything now.

I've just dropped all the fettering petty anxieties to embrace the joy of *now*.

fishHey guys!

ENJOYED reading the posts - thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to respond.

And Granny, I got to keep you "locked up" at home on the family's WALKING site (lol).

On the serious side, love your pictures in your post Granny. You keep our family site ALIVE and INTERESTING and glad to see you are doing the same at the neighbor's too-SENIOR LIVING (lol).

Bottom line, you are as old as you let yourself be. My boyfriend is 56 and does not look it as he has a "bald" head (lol). The only way you can tell is when he does not shave - yep those gray hairs surface. He does have some in his goatee when he grows one.

Me, got a few in my hair and refuse to dye them. He has no problem with it, but you know those folks who just got to SAY something (lol). But they are learning, I am who I AM.....

fishAnd you have to LIVE each DAY as if it is your LAST = make each day "special"..... Too many times as we "mature"(refuse to use old/lol) we forget that there are so many things we have not experienced as yet. One of my dreams is to take a trip in a helicopter. Yep, never been in one and it may be age 100 before I get to - but I am going (lol).

53 here. 50 is definitely the new 30. I love it. I feel like I'm still a young woman - just a lot smarter than I used to be!

Yay, Nancy! I love that! And, it's true, we *are* wiser! I wouldn't trade wisdom for youth, would you? But it's nice to have both (since we're the new 30!) wink

I can't stress enough the importance of exercise to us new 30-somethings! It really makes you feel great and I think it helps your body produce more youthful hormones.

So from what Granny said, anyone has their list started? I do and keep adding - and guess what is the "newest" addition. Any guesses?

Sara - Free rentals are fantasic! We are also lucky to still have a Dollar Video store. All DVD's rent at $1 a night. The only thing is their movies tend to be on the newer side.

I do keep a running request at our library for movies we want to see.
