I really like this quote by Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church, "A movie is a sermon with pictures." In his sermon, "You watch what you eat, how discerning are you in entertainment", Driscoll goes on to explain that Satan can write and is at work in the world through music, movies and books.
