I'm hoping that you are referring to the landmass known today as the continents of the Western Hemisphere - North & South America, as the name 'America' was coined as a term for the 'New World' on maps produced in the very early 1500's. The entire land mass is considered as a single populated continent when represented on the Olympic Flag.

New theories & revelations are continuously yielded and I have yet to make jugdement. I recall a finding that DNA testing showed that there was common link to 4 females that could be tied to the tribes of North America. While there are no common strands in those indigenous to South America/Latin America that would lay claim to the Asian migration across the Bering Straight. There was even a report that Eastern North American peoples revealed a genetic semblance to a Jewish origin.

There is much more to be discovered.

Yes, I'm referring to North, South, and Central America.

There is now arguments that China was there decades before any Europeans.
