I gave myself a year to get a handle on getting fresh food into my system. When I am stressed out I eat pretty much tortillas with flax seed/omega butter.

What I really want is raw cookie dough so it could be worse.

I hate to cook or prepare food and I never eat until I am starving. Then i reach for the tortillas. Sometimes I put cheese in them with salsa and sometimes I put tuna fish in them. Sometimes I put beans in them.

If I am feeling really on top of things I eat tuna wrapped in large leaves of lettuce (butter lettuce).

I am hoping that by making my own thread about this i can be more accountable.

I do hydrate well and take vitamins.

It's a great idea to work on this over a year. That gives you time to try a variety of ideas and figure out what works best for you.

A key first step is to figure out some healthy, no-cook items that you enjoy eating, so we can get some into your house. If something isn't there to eat, then nothing else we do will help. You can't eat something that isn't there smile

Did you go through the no-cook cookbook? What items in there appealed to you? What are some other items that you would enjoy eating, if they were there in the house?

Just a quick note - I actually melted cheese on ripped pieces of tortillas today and added salsa and chicken salad from a pre-made container.

For me, that's a full course meal. I'd have added lettuce if i was thinking straight but I am still so sad about my kitty that I can barely think.

I will take vitamins right now while I am thinking about it.

Today I ate tuna on lettuce and tortillas. And had vitamins. Celery in the tuna.

Take it day by day - each day it will get a little easier to make sure you are healthy, to take care of your remaining little dependents.

As you can tell, I have been eating one meal a day since William died. I just don't feel like eating.

I did have a single glass of red wine last night though, and a packet of EmergenC in water.

Today's meal - A whole can of black beans with some cheese and salsa and shreds of tortilla. my vitamins.

Certainly depression and dealing with loss can have a huge impact on your appetite. People talk about the diet where you break up with someone and instantly lose 10 pounds because you are so upset about it. So it is normal and OK to have lost your appetite. Just take it one day at a time.

It is great that you had beans, cheese, salsa, and tortilla with your vitamins today. That gives you a variety of nutrients, and keeps your system going.

Thank you for the moral support! Yes, emotional loss really does either make one eat a lot or not at all. I've never actually heard anyone talk about the Breakup Diet, but I have indeed experienced it. many times.

Today I had chicken salad with celery on sprouted wheat bread, and finished up the little bit of black beans that was left over. Vitamins. Decaf coffee, then plenty of water.

I am going to have an EmergenC in water right now to get in extra nutrients. I am using up my Heart Health packets. They are black cherry, which is too sweet for me, but since they are good for me, and not cheap, i will use them up. Then I will go back to the citrus ones that are tastier, IMO.

I do have protein shake powder - maybe I should start to add that in somewhere at some point?

Chicken salad with celery on sprouted wheat bread, plus beans! You're doing very well! That sounds very tasty.

I have EAS protein shakes every morning but have never really used protein powder. I'm not sure exactly what to do with that, maybe someone else can offer suggestions?
