I want to strongly encourage anyone who wants to post here to read not only the
Child Abuse Forum Guidelines but the
BellaOnline Terms of Service as well.
I'm going to be a bit of a dragon lady about this, and I'll explain why. Quite frankly, the internet is full of sickos. You never know if you're talking to one. I need to start with all forum posters on a level playing field. So, you all need to follow the guidelines I've written. I need to know that you respect me, BellaOnline and your fellow posters at least that much.
If it's clear that you've ignored the guidelines, you are suspect to me. That may seem harsh, but this topic is different than others. Predators like to victimize people who've already been victimized because they think they're easy targets. Internet predators know how to play people. In fact, I'll be covering internet safety in upcoming articles. It's something we should all be aware of.
I have to be on my guard with every post. I won't let one get through or stay very long that I believe is either blatantly predatory or that is using a story of abuse as a cover to get their sick posts in.
Exceptions will not be made for people claiming to be non-native English speakers. In fact, one technique predators use is to be the person whose English is not so good thereby eliciting a relaxation of the rules in their case.
But I'm not insensitive to the fact that we at BellaOnline have visitors from around the world. If you are having trouble understanding the guidelines because of a language barrier, please email me at the address given below, and I will do my best to help you.
