Remember, more often than not, good things come to people who not only work hard, but are positive.

There are not a lot of positive aspects about being unemployed, but perhaps this situation will give you the chance to finally make a jump to a career youll really enjoy.

Take this dilemma as an opportunity, feel good about yourself and look forward to the day when you set up your desk at a new office -- it might be sooner than you think.

fishWith today's economy I am finding that regular 9 to 5 jobs are scarce. The way to tap into the job market seems to be "multi" talented and seek out several options.

It may mean working several part-time jobs which could possibliy lead into a full-time position.

It may accepting a temporary job like I did in July of this year, versus going past 2 years of being laid off. With me, temporary works fine for me right now as I will be moving back home to Phenix City, Alabama when the gig ends.

There are 9-5's available it's finding them that's hard. So few positions are advertised the traditional way these days.

I'm not Dianne, but my advice is to use networking to find those jobs that aren't advertised or aren't advertised widely.

Hi Susan:

I agree and there are ways to find these unadvertised jobs.

Talk to your friends - they may have some job openings in the company they are working for.

Stop by any companies you are interested in working for - sometimes the human resources department may be willing to clue you in on their unadvertised openings.
