Attend a Native American powwow and you learn about the dancing, drumming, sharing and sense of community that is so important in Native American culture. Across the US, many powwows welcome non-tribal members. Some powwows are free and some have a nominal fee.
Find out about powwows in my Adventure Living column (Travel & Leisure).
If you have never experienced a powwow, tell me why not? If you have, please tell me about your adventure? Thanks,
Can't forget to include some of the great food that is available from the vendors. Fry Bread, Navajo/Indian Tacos, Bison BBQ, etc. Depending on the locale, indigenous fares may be prepared & served in the traditional ways; i.e., salmon, maple syrup for flavoring, cactus, ...

I've seen powwows but not in person. I would love to experience one firsthand. If anyone finds information on where to attend one that's inviting for visitors, please post.
Thanks,
