Finished "The Wars of the Roses" and have begun "1421". It is extremely interesting.

You're so far ahead of me. I've had to quit reading for a while, except bedtime reading (believe me, I read heavy fiction but nothing that I want to retain until morning). I'm busily reading the Constitution for classes smile

Finished "1421". Will be reading "Hitler" next. (I have a week before I start school so I'm getting in as much reading as I can.)

I've just started reading A Gambling Man by Jenny Uglow. It's about Charles II who has always been my favourite king during the years 1660-1670. He was known as the 'merry monarch' and described as 'kind and generous'. A famous poem about him at the time was, 'Our pretty, witty king, whose word no man relies on, he never said a foolish thing and never did a wise one.' His immediate retort was, 'That's because my words are my own and my actions are my ministers.'
I'm looking forward to reading it.

I just finished Dark Tide by Stephen Puleo which is about the great Boston molassess flood of 1919.

The book was voted as the Boston.com summer reading program book for Boston and it was a great pick!

I learned more about Boston (my hometown) than I expected while reading this book but more importantly I learned about one of the most overlooked tragic events in the history of Boston - the molasses flood and the aftermath of the tragedy.

A strongly recommend the book!
