I have a bountiful crop of zucchini in my garden but every time I pick it, I get an itchy, red rash, or allergic contact dermatitis. It's hard to believe but this seemingly innocuous vegetable causes this reaction but other allergies as well. Read more in the latest post on the Allergies and Colds page at

I get this too! I won't even have zucchini in my garden because I get such bad contact dermatitis and if I'm cooking it I have to get someone else to wash it first. I didn't know that it is often a co-reaction to ragweed allergies. I had shots as a kid for ragweed allergies.
