Has anyone seen the new show Rizzoli and Isles on TNT? If so, what do you think?

Unfortunately we don't have tv anymore. We live very remotely, and don't do dish or cable. I love the books and can't wait until we have an opportunity to watch these. The fact that it's next to The Closer (one of my favorites) doesn't hurt any.

Did you watch? What did you think?

I did. I like it, but I don't love it yet. It has potential though. I plan to keep watching to see what I think after it has had some more time to develop.

The books? Is this series from books? If so, I guess I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

I like it, but they billed it almost as a Cagney and Lacey which it's far from. I think they could have worked the show with just the one detective and it would have been a winner. It seems like the one character - what is she a medical examiner? was added as an afterthought.

Sara, thanks for telling me it was a book series first! I have started the first book. I've just started it, but it seems really good so far. It was also nice to have found it at my library. smile

As far as the show, I like it, I'm still not sure yet how much. I have always loved Angie Harmon. Her character is interesting and I like Isles's character too. But the show moves really quickly and I think they need to build the development of the characters. Maybe once they've done that I will really get into it.

I just finished the first book in the series - The Surgeon. It was fantastic. When I get a chance, I want to read the next one. I hope it is as good. Thanks again Sara for telling me that they started as books!

My husband and I watch it. I love Angie harmon so watch her in anything she does. I'm not too crazy about the Laura Isles character though. I read in the book she's more goth but I suppose there's enough of those on TV as "sidekicks"

I have just started the books (reading #3 now), but there does seem to be a lot of difference between the books and the show. The books, so far, are awesome.

I also like Angie Harmon. I like the show, but something seems to be missing. I hope it just needs to develop the characters more and will improve.

I'll have to try the books. I liked Angie harmon in Women's Murder Club and when I read the books later on, I saw her as the main character, even though in the book she was blond.

I'm not sure about the Isles part of the team. To me she would be very obnoxious to be around in real life!

I didn't watch Women's Murder Club. I meant to, but I never got around to it. That is a book series too. I may check that one out later.

I am currently reading the 5th book in the Jane Rizzoli book series. So far I am really liking the books. The TV show is OK, but I like the books much better.

The season is over for the show. I still haven't gotten into it as I had hoped I would. I still like Angie Harmon, so I will probably try again next season to see if it gets better.

Is anyone else out there watching it? Did you get into it this season?

On the other hand, I am on book 6 right now of the book series. The books are great. I am pleasantly surprised at how much I still like them (many books do not continue to be good as the series goes on). I am looking forward to the next book coming out.

After the first couple of shows, I seemed to miss it every week. I guess it didnt hold my attention as much as I thought it would. I'll try to catch reruns if they have any to see what I missed.
