I'll be spending this coming weekend in Tampa, Florida.

Are there any wineries nearby worth visiting?

I think not ......

I suppose it depends on what you like to drink smile I am really fond of the Key Lime Wine from Florida as are several of my friends. However, as you know, I have a very sweet tooth smile

Yes, there is. And, you may be surprised at the varieties.

This site gives you an overview:
Florida Wineries

It looks like you'll have at least two to choose from, The Florida Orange Groves & The Rosa Fiorelli.

And, this is to a winery in the St. Augustine area that is very good! http://www.sansebastianwinery.com

Note that the "Castillo Red" is named after a famous fort in St. Augustine.

Enjoy your trip!

I realize that this reply is coming in almost a year later...however, I was brought to this website after doing a search for a particular wine I've just 'discovered'. I truly hope that you visited the Lakeridge Winery located in Clermont Florida...not too far from where you were. They specialize in the Muscadine variatal. Being from south Florida, I discovered this winery by accident while visiting central Florida and since then we have been lucky enough to have it available to us down here now. You can read more about it hereBellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. Ok...I really take pride in trying to figure out things myself. I found the UBB Code in the FAQS section...however, for the life of me, I can not figure out how to 'enable' the UBBCode for my posts(?) Is it because I am a first time poster? Any help is appreciated!! Thx!! Lisa

Hi and welcome to the forum, Lisa

I did visit Lakeridge many many years ago and I am glad to hear they are still doing well.

Regardding posting links. Two ways: if the link starts with www just paste in the link starting with www , leaving out the http : // prefix

Otherwishis switch to the full reply screen and use the icon second from left at top with a globe and that will build a link for you. (Or - if you know html then code it like as if it were html but using square brackets [ instead of angle brackets < )
