I read your article. You make the statement: "These days, not so many people would live in such a central location so its a highly original venue for all the thrilling action."

I'm not quite sure what you are saying. People don't live downtown? I am also confused as to how 221B Baker street can be considered "a highly original venue" as it is the same venue that has been used for Sherlock Holmes for over a century.

Yes, in the original story set in the 19th century, there was nothing odd about living in Baker St. In 2010 I would be amazed if someone told me they rented a flat in Baker St, or The Strand or Oxford St or somewhere so central. It's not impossible it's just unusual in modern-day London. People tend to live a few miles out of the centre.
To JenSmitty - yes, fire up the iPlayer and watch - you won't regret it!

I watched the first episode prepared not to like it. First of all, because I rarely watch televsion as I prefer to do more interesting things. Secondly, because it just sounded gimmicky. But I was quite taken by it. Witty script, good performances, very pacey action.

Holmes is quite insufferable. Probably would have been if he's actually existed. He reminded me of Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory excpet more sophisticated.

Missed the second episode, but watched it on iplayer. i never do that.

Sadly there are only 3 episodes but it has been such a success that I'm sure they will make a new series!

Wouldn't you just know it. I actually find something I like and when I watch the next episode, I've seen it all!
