Is that him over there with a drooped head under the straw hat in the motionless porch swing?

Got's me a Jew's Harp (kinda borrowed it from the Parfleche Game)

Hate when that twanger smacks the teeth & the lips get numb from all the vibrations, but I'm sure it will add to the hooten nanny. (Finding the origination of that term sounds like an article...)

Hey! great idea, Beetle! "Hooten nanny" -- hmmm... where did that come from? Lots of folk terms have come from and gone to obsurity. It will be fun to research that.

Right now I got to get out there and hoot and holler to the neighbors down the hollow to get their..um...wagons loaded with food over here for the shin dig.

The washboard will be great to add to the music, Flower. I will drag out Granpappy's wash tub and broom stick and check the string on it.

You'll have to pull out the tub. Cuz he's still over there with a drooped head under the straw hat in the motionless porch swing. But now Ole Blue has taken a couple turns a laid down beneath him. Hope Granpappy don't step on Blue's tail when he awakes.

Wouldn't that cause a ruckus?

Pies are done. Shall we have them warm with ice cream?

Warm pies and the ice cream covered with sorghum molasses would suit me just right.
