I mailed my book today, media rate as per instructions. $2.83 for me to send a hardback.

Then i had to return to my account on the book swap and press the button that says I mailed my book. Easy. When the recipient gets the book, the onus is on him to give me my credit.

I put it in saran wrap before taping it in the mailer, so it should get there fine.

That's great that you had an order so quickly!

I just got my first order today and we decided to put it into a bubble mailer. I know it's more expensive (i.e. the cost of the mailer vs the cost of paper) but I'm going the easy route here. I could see making a mistake trying to wrap the book in paper. It's all ready to go!

I am keeping my books for this project in one pile on their own so I know where they are.

I have gotten in 3 books from them so far - two for the initial sign-up and then one for you signing up and giving me as the reference. Your compost book came here, Bob's read it, and now we'll mail it off to you. Your house wasn't set up yet to take it directly.

I've read the second book already too - it's a medieval romance by Harlequin set exactly in the time period I write my own romance novels in. So I wanted to see "what they expect".

That just leaves a little low carb book for me to review and I'm all set! I've already relisted the medieval novel in their system. Your book goes out to you. This low carb book can be a forum giveaway. So I'll clear the house back out of these books quickly!

This business with the address is getting seriously annoying. I am now completely locked out of the paperbackswap site b/c of my unrecognized address. I can't even add more books to the book list or send a PM to their help line.

And I can't get the post office to fix this since they are in the dark what to do with it.

I have the WEIRDEST problems.

PS - Lisa, thank you so much re-the compost book. I was hoping you'd be able to read it first.

Jill -

They might only update their nationwide database once a month or something like that. Don't stress too much about it - it'll happen soon, and once it does, you will be permanently and forever set!

Yes, you are right, but still...GRUMBLE. smile

I have three more books to add and still have not ordered from my free credits yet. I hope the books I want are still there...ah. Whatever. I am sure something else good will pop up.

I've added 6 books so far & three of them have been requested/ordered. This is great since Elizabeth (in high school) has to buy all her paperback reading books for her English class. Saving up the credits to see about getting some of her books this way.

Looking around for 4 more books to add for the two free credits.

Jeanne that is amazing you've had three books requested already!

I am still in the address dead zone.

The whole book swap thing really is a great idea, though. Anyone also do the DVD swap on the sister site? I don't have ten DVDs to give away but there are a whole mess I'd like to have sent to me!

So did you get your free books yet? I haven't had any more orders yet, I should list more books of my own I suppose!

I paperback swap people said my book are mailed and I should get them in early Sept. I ordered a book on Color Palettes, Japanese Decorating, and something about making your dwelling a place of peace and joy. I can't wait to get them.

And of course I have my Compost book. :-)

I also listed a couple more novels. I don't have an awful lot of books to list - most of my books are in storage in CA.
