Apparently for the past few decades students have studied less and less and gotten away with high grades anyways. Teachers have just made it too easy for students.

Boston Globe Article on Student Studying Habits

What do you think? Were you able to get good grades without studying? Shouldn't that be impossible?

Thanks Lisa. That was a really interesting article! It does sound like there is some grade inflation (giving better grades to lower quality work) going on. I have some mixed feelings on the subject. I thought the information at the end about professor evaluations being part of this grade inflation phenomenon especially interesting.

I'm curious what people think about professor evaluations. Do professors grade easier and require less out-of-class work so that students will give them better evaluation?

Students: How (if at all) does professors' grading and/or assignments affect how you evaluate them?
