My parents are Chinese and very much into the feng shui principles.
One of the things they've instilled in me is to keep my space clean and airy. This means no dust, as it's the number one chi-killer.
Also, as eyes are the windows to the soul, windows are the eyes to the home. Feng shui principles state that to have a clear head and mind, keep the windows clear and clean. Let lots of natural light in during the day but keep them closed at night, as this may affect your chi. Choose feng-shui friendly window blinds or shades (a good one that I have is Levolor, which let lots of light in without sacrificing privacy), but try to stay away from drapes as they tend to collect a lot of dust and allergens.
