Check out my review of The Karate Kid (2010) with Jade Smith and Jackie Chan.

Every generation needs new heroes, and if they are presented in aesthetically and emotionally grand visions, all the better. Definitely a film to see; rated PG for bullying, martial arts action.

I loved the movie. I love both Jaden Smith and his funny father!

There were a few things about the movie that fell short for me, but they are trivial. It capitalized on the Karate Kid franchise when it could have stood alone to be called Kung Fu Kid. Maybe it doesn't matter to non-Japanese but there is a huge difference between karate and kung fu.

Because they kept it Karate Kid, it would have been nice to tie in the original movie with a cameo by Ralph Macchio or something.

But I was so impressed with Jadan Smith's physicality. And I plan to see this movie again!

The Karate Kid is a 1984 coming-of-age film directed by John G. Avildsen and written by Robert Mark Kamen, starring Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Elisabeth Shue. It is a martial arts film, and an underdog story in the mold of a previous success, Avildsen's 1976 film Rocky. It was a commercial success upon release, and garnered favorable critical acclaim, earning Pat Morita an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.i like this movie i watch this movie with my friends.and now we have decided to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie because i am a huge fan of harry potter movies.

I saw parts of it, the parts I saw I liked. I did not like the last bit of fighting though - not because the acting was bad, I just didn't like seeing little Jaden get hurt. That was nerve wracking. I stood up the entire fight scene at the end. I thought of not putting this is as a spoiler, but it is, after all, a remake...lol...

I turned it off, I found it dreadful - I felt nothing for the precocious face of nepitisim that came from Jaden Smith. Another example of a classic movie being trampled all over for cash, and this is so obvious in the fact that he doesn't even study Karate, but Kung Fu.

I find it a great shame when classics names are tainted by re-makes. And I can't taking a liking to J Smith, or his sister - there's nothing worse than bratty kids.
