There are some gorgeous herbs that seem to completely take over the garden when allowed to grow unrestrained, such as mint. I like to plant these herbs in the spaces in between blocks or in dedicated gardens which allows no over growth. What is your best method to grow mint without ending up with a whole garden full of mint?

I put a plastic pot in the ground that I had cut the bottom off of and I planted my mint inside the ring.

It's true you need to put them on separate pots instead to control the growth of the herb. Even if you grow them indoors you will have to do the same. ------------ growing herbs indoors ------------

Actually, I like to plant mint and lemon balm near the outer edge of a garden. That way as you mow the grass it gets trimmed, somewhat, and you get the lovely aroma as you mow; especially the lemon balm.

@ Helen- Well, If you do this you have to tolerate this invasive herb. If you don't make a fence around it or, plastic container as Lisa said you have to pay for it.

I dig mine up and give the roots away to people that want them. I place an ad. Keeps them all in check just fine!
