It's so true. You know that a daily 10-minutes walk there and 10-minutes back does the world of good, but keeping that up through rain and shine is the key! (JOY)

I have type 2 diabetes and I can keep it under contol by walking every day and watching my diet. My doctor says I do not need any medications and to continue my healthy lifestyle.

One thing that helps keep my glucose levels down is Native Food. Sweet potatoes, squash, beans and corn. I know the doctors say not to eat some of these. However, I did my own glucose test with different foods to see how MY body reacts.

I've come to realize, despite my mixed heritage, my body is genetically not suited to processed foods.

Keeping active, losing some weight, and eating right got me off insulin and I plan to keep it that way.

When it rains, a few minutes of Tai Chi or some intensive house cleaning is a great substitute for a 20 minute walk.

I used to take Tai Chi classes and really enjoyed it. That was many years ago. I did not keep up on it and forgotten the steps. I think getting back into it will be a good idea for me.
