Dry indoor air during the winter can wreck havoc with your sinuses. By early spring, you may have full-blown sinus issues. Every year, I give myself a pat on the back for making it through the winter without a sinus infection only to have one creep up on me in late March. There are some things you can do to minimize the chances of this happening or deal with it if it already has happened. Read the tips that I am following in the latest article on the Allergies and Colds page at http://www.bellaonline.com/site/allergiesandcolds

Great advice! I've practically cured my allergies through sinus irrigation and use it daily.

I had to quit taking any form of allergy medications, even over the counter, quite a few years ago when I started having bad reactions to them. I discovered sinus irrigation and this has worked better for me than the medications.

I have a terrible time with my sinuses. I will try the irrigation and see if it helps. Thanks for your advice.

Wish I had seen this sooner! I am the same way (except I am prone to ear infections as well) and I made it through this winter ok and am now having a horrible sinus episode. Been 2 weeks now so I'm thinking about irrigation, but I think the sensation of it will bother me. Might just have to grin and bear it if it helps though!

Sinus irrigation actually is pretty soothing. The warm, saline solution really helps reduce the congestion, inflammation, swelling and related head pain. If you can spare the money and have suffered for years, the SinuPulse irrigator is really worth the investment. I used a Neti Pot for years before getting the electronic nasal irrigator (affectionally called my NosePik). I never had the success with regular nasal cleansing as I am having with the SinuPulse. But then again, I have a severe problem. Most others I've talked to do great with a Neti Pot. Good Luck!
