A very interesting article about a well-know French philosopher about good motherhood and feminism. I love that woman. Of course in France a lot of people think she is some radical nut.

Wow - I have just spent almost two hours reading online articles having started with these ones (thanks Solalux!) Now could I have done that if I had kids??!! I love my [childfree] life! :D

Here in Australia, they get the 'baby bonus' 5,000 dollars for every baby, every couple with children now have plasma tv's etc. Etc, so as of this year they get it in instalments to stop the young girls blowing it all! It's a fair incentive for the uneducated! Of course not everyone abuses it and there are plenty of loving families out there but I can't help feeling the young ones are doing it for all the wrong reasons sometimes!!

So, so sad. I think in the US you get tax incentives for every child born. While it would be of good assistance to help parents with the rising costs of child care, it is too often abused. I am in favor of offering those benefits to the first 2-3 children born and cutting them off after that, so people can't be leeching off the government like "Octo-Mom".
