A very warm welcome to the Self Development Forum.

I've been thinking about how one can use ideas from the animal kingdom to help with Self Development and Personal Growth issues. Do have a look at my latest article on modelling your life on the way spiders live theirs entitled:

Self Development and Spiders : What can We Learn !

I'd love to receive your feedback so do add your thoughts, queries, comments, etc., to this Forum thread. I look forward to hearing from you!

Very interesting Joy! (Although I hasve this slight twinge a comparing myslef to a spider, LOL!)

but you are right - they do go on, they get back to work right away.

Just thinking about the song "The itsy bitsy spider"
"down came the rain and washed the spider out
out came the sun and dried up all the rain
and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again"

It is hard to think that way sometimes, we get so buied in all the bad, it gets hard to look up and find the sunshine. Sometimes I think if we can just get going whether we are happy about it or not, we can trick ourselves into being happy - eventually we wind up looking up without even realizing it.

Michelle, many thanks for your feedback! I had completely forgotten about 'The itsy bitsy spider' song. You're quite right. No amount of water stopped that little spider from climbing that spout.

And it's so true that just getting going is the key. If you're not sure what action to take, simply doing something (no matter how small) is significantly better than doing nothing at all.

I love the floating spider story! They drift along and don't know where they are going to land. They do know that once they land that they can set up a wonderful new home smile
