If you were visiting Chicago, what would be on your list of top things to see?

Many lists I find on the web list "going to Sears Tower" but to be honest I'm not that thrilled about spending $13 to go up into a skyscraper smile Maybe it's just me! I'm sure some people would love it!

The chicago river and canal tours, a lake tour on a boat, the museums, the planitarium, the oceanarium, eatting, a double decker tour, mil. park, the piers, mag mile, the two zoos, the art institute...

Lisa there are soooo many things to do.

ANd don't knock the tour from the observation center at Sears (it will FOREVER be that and not Wilson tower). You get a historical tour up there that is guided as you walk the whole thing. That, and Hancock is wonderful!

The art museum is wonderful, don't miss the Thorne rooms, they are in the basement and my favorite exhibit - I've been known to go just to see them. And the science museum, and the natural history museum. Also Shed aquarium. Just walking along the lakeshore and the park there is really nice.

2 years ago I took my husband to Chicago when I was there for work and we went up to the Sears Tower at night, which I found more interesting than going during the day. It was also WAY less crowded.

If you are willing to go out into the suburbs, my husband liked Cantigny in Wheaton, particularly the military museum, so much that we almost went back a second time.

To get a taste of what really makes Chicago unique - and to have a lot of fun - you've got to check out some of the blues clubs. A few of the best are B.L.U.E.S. in Lincoln Park, Blue Chicago on Clark St, Kingston Mines on Halsted, and Rosa's Lounge on Armitage. *AJ*
