I was given a journal for Christmas. I've started them in the past, my only worry is other people reading it so I didn't feel comfortable writing anything personal which defeats the purpose. I do want to start though. I had planned to start today, but time got away from me.

This is going to sound corny and silly (especially if you knew about the horrible holidays I've had and all the absolute negative poison I've slimed up my journal with accordingly the past couple weeks), but would it help if you tried to look at yourself as a friend would?

A friend wouldn't dwell on the chores; a friend would help you think up interesting ways to accomplish or get through the gotta-do stuff. A friend would give you encouragement about how well you can do so-and-so, which might just make you feel better about tackling the such-and-such.

Does that make any sense?

I'm up way past my bedtime, I'm tired, and I'm also just a wee bit spacey from a new fibromyalgia med, so if this post makes no sense, just kind of step over it... do be careful not to get any of it on your nice shoes.

As it ends up, my journal is almost finished so when I start the new one it will be pretty much from the beginning of 2010. I have been writing almost every day (I think I missed one so far) so that is nice, I really like unwinding at the end of each day with my journal smile

I do, too!

As a matter of fact if I don't write in my journal, the day feels incomplete, somehow... like there's a big old hole in it.
