Is there a particular time of the year that is better to prune back an overgrown Rubber tree plant? I inherited one from a friend that is being held up by a string around the four bare stems. There is 2-3 feet of bare stem between the soil and the leaves up top. I've never had one before and I don't want to damage it. Also, the roots are exposed above the soil. I need a lesson on pruning, propagating and caring for a Rubber Tree.
