What are your favorite HOT sandwiches? I need winter time ideas!

I love Reubens when they are Hot> Also steak n cheese.

Ooo, you mean like a Philly cheesesteak? Mmm. Just got a few of those for my family last week. Here it's served with Provolone not the Cheese Whiz like in Philly.

I'm trying to reduce my meat consumption so one of my favorite HOT sandwiches is a pita pocket filled with carmelized onion, mushrooms and harvati cheese. LOTS of mushrooms! I carmelize it in butter and add a dollop of Worchestershire to the mushrooms.

But I also love a good, hot open-faced turkey sandwich, meatloaf sandwich, grilled pannini...hmmm...does grilled cheese count as a hot sandwich. I love to make grilled cheese with three different cheeses. And then, I melt butter and sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese and plop the sandwich on it to grill it. It makes this golden cheese crust on the outside of the bread. So so yummy!

Absolutely philly cheese steak - with provolone cheese, fried (yep I said fried) onions. They use cheese whiz in Philly? I didn't know that. I love grilled cheese and tomatoes. If you want to try something unique grilled cheese and grape jelly. Now THAT is a sandwich. You make the grilled cheese as normal then right when it's done, slather grape jelly on the top of the sandwich. I know you're thinking yuck but the salty cheese and sweet jelly - yum! Actually strawberry jelly works too, but grape is better.

Love Philly cheese steaks with fried onions. I hail from NJ so I grew up on them.
