A pregnant woman collapsed in a coffee shop and there were two paramedics in there. They refused to help her because they were on a break. They told workers to call "911" and they left the shop. The woman and her baby later died. See the video report here

I do know that they were suspended for the time being and have been trying to follow up on the story. I will keep trying and let you know.

I read a couple of articles about this and it was said that the two in question had not worked in in the field for years... is this a defense??? Who cares whether they had worked in the the field recently or not! Where is their human compassion? They could have gotten in trouble for helping her??? Who cares. I would think a human life is worth much, much more than a possible write up. How much trouble could you really get in for trying saving a life.

No, they were active EMT'S and were suspended, They were at breakfast before going to work. Here is another article about it.

It's horrific beyond words, that these two people could lack basic compassion or ethics to help. Administrative leave without pay, even termination is not good enough.
