That's great your sister supports you like that. At least you got some kind of support and inspiration/motivation for your interests.

Maybe it's time to make yourself happy- you know expand your social life and start enjoying life rather than waiting for her to wake up and realize what has transpired. I'm not suggesting cheating, I mean make new friends and expand your social life in general.

1st - happy 50th b-day! I think it is kind of cold to not do anything for your spouses b-day. I'm sorry that happened to you. I would have been so hurt. while saving money is great, she couldn't spare a few bucks to buy you a cake or make you your favorite dinner?!!?? since she hates to spend money, you should point out "frisky time" would be cost free! I dont know, maybe she has crazy menopause hormones right now. I know several women who really had some strange behavior changes at the age. (that doesn't excuse her dissing your birthday - just a thought on why she may acting that way) what would have happened if YOU shrugged off her b-day?

Maybe that's what he needs to do it give her back some of the same she is dishing out. I bet she wouldn't just blow it off. I mean c'mon! He sent her flowers a deli platter to her job and so on...... that is so sweet and caring.

The most important holidays to her are Thanksgiving and Christmas. Birthdays don't seem as important to her. If I spent a lot of money on her birthday I wouldn't be surprised if she was angry about how much money I spent on her. She has already told me how much to spend on Christmas. I hate that. Giving gifts to my daughters and even her is what I enjoy most about Christmas. Being told I can only spend a small amount sucks all the joy out of the holiday for me. I know were poor and I need a new job while she is working, but I still want to make my gift giving special not just a small trinket from the dollar store.

She loves scrapbooking. It is a big hobby of hers. However, I worry, for her sake, that she is spending so much time saving memories while not creating new ones.

Thank you all for your support. I was just curious if I was overreacting to the situation. I didn't mean this subject to stretch out so long.
