I am an avid reader. I have purchased eBooks for several years, but can no longer sit at my computer for very long to read them. I am considering one of the new electronic readers such as the Nook, Kindle or others.

Does anyone have any comments on how easy it is to see and read from these devices?

I would be interested in that too. I usually buy ebooks for information, not to read for enjoyment, and I end up printing most of them out to read.

I love my e-book reader. I own a Bookeen Cybook which is at the more expensive end of the market.

That said, most e-book readers use E-Ink technology which makes them as easy to read as a printed page. They aren't backlit, which to my mind is a good thing, and the screens don't glare in the sun.

The size of the "page" (usually about 6 inches) is good, and with some models you can increase the size of the font.

If you were to be looking for one, I would recommend the Sony models just coming out. They are not linked to one store (like Amazon Kindle) and are quite reasonably priced.

My sister was bemoaning the price that college textbooks will be by the time her 8 year old son gets to college. I told her they will probably all be electronic books of some sort and not printed at all. Seems that would really save the cost.
