We have a family group and a few of the male cousins have had the DNA test done. They have done the 35 marker test as they are trying to connect with a common ancestor. You mention paternity test, are you looking to connect with an ancestor or your father? The cousins were not concerned about the markers but I do hope that the test are kept confidential. There is no set regulations that I know of for monitoring the companies doing DNA/Genealogy tests.

Go online and google the paternity test and see what others say about it outside the "product" website. See the cons and pros written about is and then make an informed decision.

Also, did not know if this was for genealogy related purposed to connect to someone who has passed on or to confirm parentage. While I have not personally researched this matter, it might make a difference what product you use, based on the end result you were looking for.
