OK everyone!!

Here is a new twist to add some spice!! I was inspired to start a twisted fairytale. A twisted fairytale is when a traditional tale is spun towards the grim side of life.

I will start it and as others join in, they will add a small paragraph to continue the story.

*~*~*~ LITTLE RED RIDDING HOOD *~*~*~*

Once upon a time, deep in the darkest of forest lived Little Red Ridding Hood. Her small cabin sat upon the rocks overlooking the dark and dreary treeline. As she sat by the flickering candle light, she read in horror of the death of her beloved grandmother: As her loyal servant, Pepin, returned from the village he discovered a trail of blood from the entry door which lead him to the mistress's bedroom. At first glance, it was assumed one of her many male companions may have killed her in a jealous rage. Upon deeper examination, it was concluded that a wild animal was the cause of her demise.........

...though their thoughts on just what kind of animal did this remains a mystery. Investigations continue and a number of former male companions have been questioned. At this time there is one lead that investigators are looking into. For the time being everyone is urged to lock their doors and be weary of strange noises. It has been advised that noone should walk through the forest at night and only if an absolute neccessity. Little Red Riding Hood put the paper down and stared in disbelief. She knew what she had to do...

She knew that she had to try and find out who killed her grandmother. She knew of wolves in the area around her grandmother's house, but she had to be sure herself. There would be signs around if it was a wolf. She also knew of her grandmother's treasure box and she wanted to check the hiding place to make sure it was there.

Red swiftly grabbed a basket and started to pack and prepare for her journey. Making sure she was prepared, she placed dried fruit, breads and crackers into the quilt lined basket. Along with the foods, she placed a hunter's knife and a small bottle containing a potion created by the local witch. She knew there was danger ahead as she reached for her shotgun and in haste placed the shotgun ammo into shell strap....

...and hid it under her long velvet red cape. She was defintely on a mission.
Before leaving she looked at her cottage with loving eyes, not knowing if she'll ever return.

She began her journey down the dirt road and into the dark forest, many people were afaid to go in her but Red wasn't one of them. She knew this was the quickest way to her grandmother's house. The forest got darker as she ventured deeper inside and suddenly...

from behind a craggily tree a deranged looking man stepped out in front of her. His appearance sent shivers down Red's spine. His hair was in dissaray and his red plaid shirt was torn. The jeans he wore were muddied and he was missing a boot.

......concerned for her safety, Red slowly removed her knife and held it close to her to prevent it from being seen from the possible foe.

"Who are you and what do you want old man? I have nothing you would want nor do I desire anything from you." Red demanded.

"I don't want anything from you, but I am here to warn you of the grave danger you will encounter should you venture into the woods." He was quite shaken as he spoke and Red could tell he was being truthful.
"What did you see?" Red asked.

He slowly walked closer to her to whisper as if he was worried that the forest would echo out his horrible secrets, " Well young lady, there are many ways to die in the thick of the forest. One who has followed you and awaits for it's opportunity to feast. He is not man but beast- full of hunger and thirsts for blood."
