I've been looking at the different games going on in all of our forums and have been trying to think of one that "relates" to Spirituality. Since we are coming up on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and there are so many people out there that have so little; I thought we'd put together a food box. Everyone names a different canned or nonperishable food item that can go into our food box. And whenever I see a bunch that go together to make a recipe, I'll post the recipe. If you get inspired by our food box to put one together for real and hand it out to a neighbor in need - then all the better!!!  I'll start in the next post.

OK; If you are putting together this box for a family, here is the list of perishable items you will want to get the day before you give them the box.
(I recommend giving them the box2 days before Thanksgiving with all the recipes - because it makes it feel like such an accomplishment to do make all these dishes)
1 smoked turkey breast from the deli
1 dozen eggs
1 pckg of herb flavored cream cheese
1/2 gallon milk
Recipes should be printed on individual 5x7 cards or sheets of paper (recipes to follow)
Oh! also need to add the following "spices" to our box: Vanilla & cinnamon

Sweet Potato Casserole
preheat oven to 350 degrees
Take can of yams, drain them, and then using potato masher or forks, mash yams up in large bowl.
Add 1 tsp vanilla
Add 1 tsp cinnamon
Add 1 egg
Add 1/2 Cup (packed) brown sugar - mix all together and pour into buttered casserole dish.
Sprinkle Pecans over top
Bake for 30 minutes.
Sprinkle Marshmallows over top
Place back in oven and cook until marshmalloes are golden brown (about 10 more minutes)

Green Bean Casserole
Prehesat oven to 350 degrees
Mix Cream of Mushroom soup
3/4 Cup Milk
Canned Green Beans
and 2/3 Cups french fried onions in bowl
Pour in buttered casserole
cook for about 20 minutes
sprinkle with 2/3 cup french fried onions
bake another 5 mintues until onions are golden

Creamy Herbed Stuffing
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Prepare stuffing accordeing to box directions.
Then add in 2 eggs (beaten)
8 oz herb cream cheese
mix well
place in buttered casserole dish and bake for 30
minutes

Peas w/ Peal Onions and just a little bit of butter and salt are an easy side dish.
These can be done on stove top, microwave or oven depending on space.

And the Box of Mashed Potatoes can be fixed up and served along with the turkey gravy. Just follow the directions on the box.
