I just finished up another bottle of body lotion today, which makes me happy. I have SO MANY extra bottles of shampoos, lotions, lip glosses, scrubs, salts, and so on...I can't keep hoarding them forever. I want to be able to use my things!

For some reason, I just keep acquiring more too, at Dollar Stores, and garage sales and thrift stores. It's hard when I see brand new, unopened luxury toiletries, or barely used things, going for a dollar or less. I have been taking these goodies home for years!

I have this great environmental fantasy that I won't buy any more toiletries than I actually NEED once I have all the ones I already own all used up.

It will take me years of persistent use to get to this stage though!

Does anyone else have this kind of issue? I am very determined to use up all my goodies, and when I finished up another lotion today I just wanted to celebrate. smile

Hey Jilly, I just thought of something...

Now that winter is approaching, if you have any unopened bottles of moisturizer, you might think of making little gift baskets for senior citizens in nursing homes. The air stays so dry in these homes (to prevent the spread of germs) that their poor skin stays extremely dry.

Plus, just having someone think about them (many times they don't even have family visit) brings them a lot of joy.

Thanks for the thought, Michelle, but I really just want to selfishly use these things. I have given so many wonderful things of mine to charity over the years and I now want to treat myself. So my fun goal is to use everything up and hopefully find a little bit of joy while so doing.

That is understandable, too! You deserve to treat yourself sometimes, too. We forget to do that too often. (And I personally can't think of very many people who deserve it more). lovers

Awww, thank you. It is hard to actually USE my nice things for some reason - It's as if i like having them around. Which is really just hoarding, I think. lol

I am also trying to use as much of things as I want instead of just tiny bits to make them last longer. I have to break all kinds of old habits, here. If I can bring a sense of abundance to my life in this way, maybe it will have positive repercussions. I can hope. smile
