BellaOnline Forums Computers PC Advice Looking for an external hard drive

Allison,
I need a one TB external hard drive. I have been looking around but haven't a clue on which ones are good or not so good. Also, can you recommend the best place to buy such a critter? I live in small town USA so mail order is the only option. I already looked at Walmart, wasn't impressed. Then again, I am never impressed at Walmart, I couldn't even find barley or carrots today. Thank you

I keep think I shouldn't get a 1tb, it would be way too much. I was just looking at reviews I have written on computers. How rapidly they went from mb, 1g up up and up. I remember how thrilled I was to get my first 1gig hard drive lol. 1tb it is! Thanks for the help.

If you don't need 1tb then I wouldn't get one that large (I am assuming this is for backups). Instead I would invest in a couple smaller drives and rotate them for backups and store one off-site if possible.

I haven't used any external hard drives recently but some of the better name brands are:

Western Digital
Seagate
Iomega
