I definately agree with your statement. As a handcrafted jewelry seller at art festivals, I often hear people tell me how much they admire my creativity and then add one that they don't have a creative bone in their body.

My response is always that they have to explore various creative paths to find the one that is right for them. For example, I am a visual person so it is a challenge for me to write creatively.

Thanks Susan for this article. It's really encouraging. My grand mother always used to find a way to renovate the kitchen, bed room, or, living room . And this type of activities are also can be treated as a part of creativity. she also reused the bids, lace and other items from different outfits.

Isn't it weird, the way people do that, Ann Marie - I think it must be something to do with the way, as children, we are often told that creative pursuits are mere hobbies or self-indulgences or sometimes simply that they're a waste of time.

I mean - what a waste of time to put together that mosaic, when you could be reading a book on double-entry bookkeeping!

These kinds of activites are, indeed, all creative, Farjana. Anything new from what was there before is a result of our innate creativity.

There should be lessons at school on recognising this within ourselves, making the most of it and being proud of it.

I agree, Shipra. Unfortunately, creativity is often discouraged in our society as a waste of time, or not something you can earn a living at later on in life, or as self-indulgent. It's very odd...
