The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Naruto Shippuden will begin airing on Disney XD in October 2009. Viz Media, who holds the U.S. rights to the series, has confirmed the report. Naruto Shippuden has been streaming online on several websites since January.

WHAT!? NO!! Why Not [adult swim]? Why a kids channel like....disney XD -.-' i mean the name is childish...a cool show like naruto....it has adult scenes in it...they cant cut out all those scenes or it will be boring to watch....i hate disney XD

I have to admit I was very stunned when I first read this news, too. A day later, and I'm still puzzled as to why Viz Media chose to agree to give Disney XD broadcast rights to Naruto Shippuden.
And I am also wondering how much "sanitizing" Disney will try to do the show, considering the company has a history of doing such things. Since I don't personally have Disney XD, I'm going to have to read second-hand reports on how Disney ends up handling Naruto Shippuden.

Naruto Shippuden will debut on Disney XD on October 28. Four episodes ("Homecoming," "The Akatsuki Makes Its Move," "The Results of Training," and "The Jinchuriki of the Sand") will air between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

My son and I were discussing this. Disney and Naruto do not seem very compatible at all.
We've been waiting forever for Shippuden to come out (we are heavy into the Manga) so are very interested to see what happens.
