Every night before I fall asleep I try to do some gentle yoga to stretch out and prepare for night. I also try to meditate a bit, to help my mind quiet down. Does anyone else try this? The only trouble I hit is that if it's cold it's hard to do things under the blankets

What about in front of the fireplace?
Fire is extremely soothing to me anyway, with the sight, sound, and smell.

I was just saying a few days ago that I wanted to light a fire, but we didn't. The problem is the TV is right above the fireplace so Bob plays his slice-em video games up there which sort of counteracts the soothing emotion I need to find some sort of a balance where at least some of the time I can have "my emotion" in the living room. Or I suppose I can put a fire "video" on the other TV and do yoga in front of it

Why is it cold in your bedroom? Can you turn up the heat and then turn it down when you actually decide to sleep?

LOL Bob now admits that maybe the heat is completely off for the entire upstairs floor. Aha!! Maybe THAT is why I am freezing at night. Hmmmm. He tends to fall asleep on the futon which is of course downstairs where it is warm.
Now it is 4am and I am preparing to go up to bed and my feet are already cold. Not a good sign. I don't know how to turn on the heat upstairs. Maybe I will prod him awake ...

Hey Lisa.... Try wearing warmer PJs. Flannel is perfect - soft, comfy and keeps out the cold! I love the fireplace idea, btw. Nancy Welker, Yoga Editor BellaOnline Yoga Site
