With summer in full swing I am sure a lot of people have entertaining plans lined up. What tips do you use to keep your outdoor area in tip top shape in the summer.

Any tips or suggestions for getting the umbrella on the deck clean?

Outdoor fabrics. Umbrellas and chair cushions will look like new longer if you protect them from rain and store them away for the winter. Rinse thoroughly with mild detergent and hot water, rinse and allow to dry in the sun. Follow the manufacturer�s directions for treating stains.

It's also good practice to wash outdoor/garden furniture once a week with soapy water. Also, make sure that you wipe surfaces clean of spills as soon as possible. Protect them with a good weather finish to make them last longer.
