Hi Tse!

That's correct! Lilongwe is the capital of Malawi with a population of over 800,000 people. It is near the border of Malawi, Mozambique, and Zambia.

That's 1 correct answer for Tse.

I'll be posting another question in a little bit...

The correct answer is Bingu Wa Mutharika. He was just reelected this year by a landslide.

Beetlemess is credited with the right answer since they were the first person to post with the correct answer.

The first person to get three correct answers will win the book smile So anyone can still win this!

Initial independence in July 1964 saw 2 years as a Commonwealth with a Governor-General (Sir Glyn Smallwood Jones - representing Queen Elizabeth II) followed by becoming a republic under the first President - Hastings Kamuzu Banda.

Two more have held the office (Bakili Muluzi & Bingu wa Mutharika) for a total of 3 Presidents since independence.

Tse - I'm going to start a new thread tomorrow in this forum AND I'll have a new set of questions, too. smile

I was fortunate enough to get three copies to give away from the publisher. This book went on sale today. It is such a great book, I'm thrilled to be able to give a few copies away smile
