I find traveling and eating healthy are two unrelated activities. I will buy unroasted nuts and fruit for the trip, but I don't feel like I'm on vacation until we stop at a restaurant (often the big Mc).
Curried chicken wraps (loaded with grated carrots and lettuce)for flavour, Sun Chips for the treat portion of the meal, Hummous and veggies for the texture and for filling the munching gap. Can go a long way with this trio of fuel!
I love to pack nuts (almonds and cashews), dried fruit, fresh fruit and cheeses. Munching on these seems to offset the unhealthy feeling after eating at those fast food stops.
But I also am a chip fiend and can't help but bring along some chips.
