Those with food allergies have benefited from the number of companies recently jumping on the bandwagon to produce allergen-free products. However, much sleuthing of ingredients labels is still required. I, for one, spend countless extra time at the market reading package labels. Does anyone else experience this problem?
Read what manufactuers are putting on their labels to "help" with the problem in the most recent post, "Food Allergy Labeling," on the Allergies and Colds page, at http://bellaonline.com/site/allergiesandcolds

I have the same problem since my husband had to go gluten free. Many packages are now stating that they are gluten free but with others, you just have to know what ingredients you are looking for.

It's been difficult finding some things but with others, such as bread, noodles, pretzels, etc, I order either mixes or the items from Amazon. My bread machine has been busy lately!

Yes, it's definitely worth the time to read the labels or, like you, make your own. I do the same and make most bread-like things from scratch as I too must avoid gluten.
