Despite the increasing numbers of returning veterans who have mental health disorders like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), there is still a great deal of mystery and stigma surrounding this condition. Exposure to trauma can lead to a host of chronic problems, yet people with PTSD often don't recognize their symptoms or don't get the help that they need. This week's article sheds some light on this often misunderstood disorder.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
About one third of people who experience a traumatic event develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a chronic condition that interferes with their ability to function. This article outlines PTSD symptoms and encourages people with PTSD to seek healing through education and support.

I would like to hear your thoughts on PTSD. Talking about this disorder is the best way to bring it out from the shadows.

I welcome your feedback on the article and will be happy to provide further information about PTSD at your request.
