I miss the Captain.

As a child I loved watching Captain Kangaroo, but as a father I valued the work of Mister Rogers so much.

Mister Rogers was my parenting inspiration and mentor. His wisdom and sense of caring is so valuable.

I loved Mr. Rogers, Romper Room, Zoom, Sesame Street (Grover is my fave - he may be small, but he's wirey), Fat Albert, Captain Kangaroo. Do you remember that movie that Marlo Thomas and Alan Alda made: Free to be You and Me. I crack up every time I watch it - yes, I do have it on DVD.

When I was a little girl I watched Miss Francis on Ding Dong School. When my kids were little they watched the same show with Miss Mary Ann. It was a great show for kids. She had 5 or 6 kids on the show and it was like a small classroom. They did craft projects, dancing, exercising, had their treats, just like a real pre-school class.
