This was an awesome article! I wonder if all little girls feel sort of abandoned by their fathers - certainly not to this extent of course. But as girls grow up they realize their dads are occupied by "other women" (moms, girlfriends) and that can be tough. My parents divorced when I was young so I only saw my father on alternating weekends. He wasn't a constant presence in my life. I wonder how I might have been different if he was around every day ...

I think I felt abandoned by my Dad. My parents divorced when I was five and I only saw him summers. Unfortunately, he died as we were starting to build a meaningful relationship as adults.
