I keep putting off school supply shopping because I just can't stand to spend so much money on supplies. And I can't help but think about the kids whose parents can't possibly begin to afford it. What on Earth do they do? What do you think? Read the latest Charity article for info:
Donate School Supplies for Needy Kids

Thank you for the article on donation of school supplies.

I personally buy the "packs" from our PTO- These contain all the supplies that are requested directly from the teachers. Nothing else is needed to be purchased. One fee. done. And then the proceeds from the sale % goes back to PTO to purchase whatever is requested by the school (ex. playgroung equip., books, maps, computers).

They then mix all the supplies (like crayons, and pencils, kleenex, paper towels together for the room to share)

Every little bit helps!

Also just for measure, when I would help out in my child's classroom, I found that a pencil, folder, ruler, things like that we could come up with easy for the child that had none, but seriuosly what would break my heart was the fact that many a child came to school in the cold with no coat! no hat, no gloves, boots! It was hard to hold back tears just seeing it. Now our school holds a drive to hold and pass out coats that fit- no questions asked!

I know I donate constantly and those articles that are well over a year old, in lost and found will be given out as well.
