Children with developmental or physical disabilities, communication challenges, and chronic health conditions are especially vulnerable to neglect and abuse. Isolated, overwhelmed parents who are unaware of helpful strategies in raising children with their child's particular needs or personality can act on impulses that damage family relationships and their children's self-confidence and trust in the world.

If you have stories to share about what you do, who you call, or where you go when you feel overwhelmed, you may be the one who helps another mom pull through her scariest times. Being a trusted friend to another mom can help both families maintain safer and happier homes. If you are struggling, there is help available. You and your child deserve all the support, information and encouragement you need to get through the tough times and enjoy the best of times or plain everyday ordinary life.
