I took a spider out of my kitchen this morning and threw it out of the window (not very nice, no, but there are bushes, and flower beds.

I take spiders outside, too. I do not like to kill them because they eat bugs on my plants.

I saw my first ladybug of the season today.

Ten minutes ago I saw another spider in my appartment - on the ceiling. I left it there. At least for today.

I just saw some more ladybugs on my patio. I wonder if a neighbor has bought some for their garden. They seem to like my geraniums.

They actually like the aphids that will eat your geraniums. Ladybugs are pretty helpful in gardens - they eat the pests that will eat your plants.

They get to be a problem when they lay their eggs in your insulation in the winter - because they leave their pheromones behind, which just attracts more ladybugs - and then you have tons of these little guys. They don't actually hurt anything, but it is kind of annoying when you have a whole bunch of them hatch at one time inside your house!

I have a few little honey bees buzzing around my geraniums already this morning. As soon as the sun hit the flowers, the bees came.

I can hear the Quail calling to each other, but, have not seen them yet.

Ladybugs have always been considered lucky by my family. We've had two incidences of swarms at family gatherings. One was during visitation at a funeral. They were all over the flowers and us. The second was at a Mother's Day celebration in a hall at a State park. It was OK until they started falling off the ceiling and onto the food table.

Mosquitos, and fishes (the fishes we did not see - we heard them, and we saw the rippled surface of the pond).

I found the following video on the Nevada State Bird, the Mountain Bluebird. This is a video of some babies:

Mountain Bluebird

I saw a Mountain Bluebird yesterday. He was sitting on the brick wall out back. So pretty!

The purple finches that have been nesting on our front porch for the past 3 summers is on batch #4 of eggs for this season. Food must be plentiful.

DH found an eggshell under the swallows box, so that means there are more babies in our midst. =]

And it isn't a 'sighting' but a very pregnant Australian Cattle Dog that the rescue organization we foster for did a transport for a very very very pregnant cattle dog, she made it from NC to NY this past Tuesday, and had her NINE healthy puppies last Thursday. It gives me "warm fuzzies" so to speak.
