BellaOnline Forums Home and Garden Cats Growing Catnip for your Cats

Do any of you grow catnip for your cats? I planted catnip a few years ago in the herb garden and it keeps growing every year, although less each year. This year I bought some fresh seeds and planted them in a pot so we could move it outside for sun, then inside for munching. We'll see how well it works as a potted plant! I'll post photos when it begins to grow.

Catnip grows in my yard, but I can't get my cats to like it the way they do the dried-up stuff from the store! Oliver smacks it around and acts as if it is offensive, and Smokey ignores it. Kind of like kids who love pop-tarts but wouldn't be caught dead eating a home made bun.

My potted catnip plants are growing well from seed!





The cats are very happy!

I haven't grown it yet...although I did buy seeds this year. Guess I'm procrastinating...not sure why..

My cats go really crazy when they have catnip toys, I have to ask what they are putting in these toys :0) My catnip plant dosen't affect them.
