OK So I am a first time author writing a book set in a fictional version of 16th century Ireland. I just finished my book and am trying to make sure I have certain things correct. This question centers around death, wills, and such. I am reading Death, Burial, and Commemoration in Ireland 1550-1650 and I came across a custom where a dying person would commission "rings of gold, each thereof to have deaths heads" Any ideas?
